Not only is the vast majority of our meat sourced in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire, we are blessed to have local suppliers, even right here in Barton. From fruit and veg, to homemade jams, flowers, honey, even a Barton Brewery. We fill our boxes with as much local produce as we can!

Our story
Harvey has over 30 years of butchery experience, serving Nottingham great produce. Together, he and Rob have spent years bringing proper, well-sourced food to The Dovecote Barn. What began as a simple idea — good local food for Barton — has grown into a bistro, farm shop, and butchery partnership built on trust, local suppliers, and honest cooking.
Customers at the Dovecote Farm Shop and Harvey's Nottingham butchers kept asking for a way to get our farm-fresh meat, veg, and local produce delivered to their door. So we're making it happen.
We're committed to giving small producers a place to sell their goods, and to delivering that same quality directly to customers — proper food, from farm to table, without compromise.

Short supply chains, honest seasons and farmers we can ring up. That is how we fill our boxes and how we will keep filling them.
Deliveries & Collection
Call in and collect your box from The Dovecote Barn. We will have it chilled and ready at the counter, and you are welcome to browse the farm shop while you are here.
Our refrigerated van brings your box to your doorstep, chilled from barn to bonnet, within 15 miles of Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Questions
We will agree a collection day with you when you order. The farm shop is open Wednesday to Sunday, 09:00 to 21:00, and your box will be waiting at the counter.
Yes. Because every box is packed by hand, we can usually make substitutions. Tell us what your household enjoys and we will shape the box around it.
Let us know when you enquire and we will do our best to accommodate what you need. Many items are prepared on site, so we can tell you exactly what is in each box.
No. There is nothing to sign up to and no minimum commitment. Order a box whenever it suits you and simply message us again when you fancy the next one.
